Take a short night walk from Blackrock's developed parking and spend real time under the canyon sky. Do not make your phone responsible for navigation.
Start from the developed trailhead after dark, walk a safe designated route to an open-sky viewpoint and return with your own light. The surrounding hills reduce nearby glare. Uneven ground is harder after dark.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE Orient to the lot before leaving, carry a headlamp, use a familiar designated trail, keep the outing short and retrace your exact route.
