The adventure
Build a four-mile hike from Blackrock's developed trailhead into the volcanic foothills. The recreation site has two trailhead parking areas.
Start at Blackrock Canyon's developed trailhead, use open hiking-compatible routes for roughly four miles and return to the same parking area. Restrooms are available. Expect bikes, horses or OHVs on some routes.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE Park in the developed Blackrock trailhead area from Blackrock Canyon Road. Check posted trail rules, choose an open route and make your turnaround near two miles.
LOCAL INTEL The developed site is closed to shooting year-round.
