New River Gorge Fayette Station Riverside Adventure

Deep beneath the famous New River Gorge Bridge, the New River sweeps past sandstone walls and enormous forested slopes. From river level the bridge towers overhead, giving a completely different sense of scale than the rim overlooks.

The riverside setting brings together geology, whitewater history, and the engineering spectacle of the bridge. Watching experienced rafters pass through the gorge adds movement and energy to an otherwise peaceful scenic stop.

ONCE YOU’RE THERE

Park at the designated Fayette Station access, explore established public riverside walking areas, and return without crossing private or restricted land.
