THE EXPERIENCE
Stage a vehicle at Margies Cove East, drive to Margies Cove West, then cross the North Maricopa Mountains Wilderness on foot. Navigate the old tracks and washes until you physically emerge at the opposite trailhead. West to east, trailhead to trailhead.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE
This route only works after arranging your own two-vehicle shuttle. Begin at Margies Cove West and follow the wilderness route east through former tracks and broad washes. Navigation is part of the objective: there are no directional markers. Finish at Margies Cove East Trailhead where your staged vehicle should be waiting.
GOOD TO KNOW
Remote, exposed terrain. Carry all water and avoid hot-season travel.
