The adventure
A surprising ribbon of falling water spills through a wooded pocket beside the Mississippi River in Saint Paul. Bluff slopes, shaded paths and the big river create a wilderness-feeling break from city streets.
The fun is in combining the short waterfall approach with a slower shoreline wander. Sandbars and exposed riverbank change with water level, so each visit can feel different.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE
Walk the signed route from the parking area toward Hidden Falls, then continue on open riverside paths before returning the same way.
LOCAL INTEL
The falls can be modest during dry spells; the Mississippi views are worthwhile even when the cascade is quiet.
TRAIL CONDITIONS & SAFETY
Stay off flooded paths and unstable riverbank edges. Never enter fast current.
