The adventure
Play Nevada State Parks' new 18-hole desert disc golf course with Washoe Lake, mountains and the occasional feral horse around you.
The Maze is a full 18-hole course that officially opened in 2026. The course winds around brush, seasonal ponds and the edge of Washoe Lake rather than a manicured city lawn.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE
Enter Washoe Lake State Park from Eastlake Boulevard, pay the entrance fee, turn left just past the entrance station and use the Maze parking lot—the first lot on the right. Start at the course map/Hole 1 and follow the numbered baskets through all 18 holes. Bring your own discs, water, sun protection and insect repellent.
LOCAL INTEL
Expect sandy footing and exposed stretches between baskets. Keep an eye on wind, which can dramatically change disc flight across the Washoe Valley.
TRAIL CONDITIONS & SAFETY
water: Available in developed park areas; carry water on course.; equipment: Bring discs.
FEES & ACCESS
Current Nevada State Parks day-use fee is $5 per Nevada vehicle and $10 per non-Nevada vehicle.
