The adventure
A winding staircase and elevated walkway lift hikers into the wooded dune country above Lake Michigan. The Skyline Trail combines the intimate feel of a forest path with airy views across sand hills and the distant water.
The route is short enough to pair with a beach visit but memorable for its elevation changes and boardwalk scenery. Wind-shaped dunes and changing lake light make repeat visits feel different from season to season.
ONCE YOU’RE THERE
From official parking, follow signs to the Skyline Trail and complete the signed route, staying on boardwalks where provided.
LOCAL INTEL
